Jay Tabb sneaks in at the back post to put the Sky Blues one up against West Ham in the 4th round of the Carling Cup
A feeling of utter bewilderment seemed to cover most of the stadium following Carlton Cole’s late winner, against a rejuvenated Coventry City team, who seem to be saving their best for the cup. I for one felt a mixture of pride and dejection at the final whistle. Pride at the manner the Sky Blues went about their work, with a fierce determination to compete on level terms with the visitors and utter dejection at seeing the faces of the players at the final whistle, having lost to a Premiership Team, who had two shots on goal all night.
This was a game when the best side lost, the team with all the grit and determination, guile and none too small amount of skill, came off second best. We could chose to blame individuals, but I think we should concentrate on the plusses from this fantastic Cup Tie, played with pretty good spirit throughout. (Read on …)
THE takeover of Coventry City Football Club was thrown into confusion last night as two millionaires tabled rival bids for the club and the Ricoh Arena.
ICCoventry have revealed that an investment team including wealthy former footballer Ray Ranson is behind an offer which has the support of the Arena owners ACL.
Mr Ranson attended last night’s Carling Cup clash against West Ham at the Ricoh Arena.
But a second bid suddenly emerged yesterday from the multi-millionaire former Coventry City Football Club chairman Geoffrey Robinson.
Both offers were put before a crisis meeting of the City board yesterday.

Coventry City Council has a duty to make the CCFC takeover happen
This petition has been made to help the club in going forward.
According to ICCoventry the Sky Blues are very close to being taken over.
The Coventry Evening Telegraph have said that a group of British investors have come up with a financial offer to take over both the club and the Ricoh Arena worth at least £30 million which will save the Sky Blues from administration.
Although the offer has yet to be formally approved, it is understood to be acceptable both to the club’s bankers, the Co-op, and to ACL, the company which owns the Ricoh.

Joe Elliot today confirmed that there had been no approach for Iain Dowie - for the 9months of lies us fans have had from the Club - maybe they will realise how it feels having rumours spread about them!!!!

There are a few hot rumours on the grapefine that Iain Dowie is on his way out of the door first thing in the morning (26th October).
It is alleged that he will be going to Leicester City, taking his backroom staff with him.
Earlier on today we heard that there will be a news release in the morning, which was negative so could this be it?
I really hope that this is not true especially if he was to take Tim Flowers with him. He is a city lad born and bred so to leave the Sky Blues to go down the M69 would be the wrong thing to do but at the end of the day it is all about the money.

Never forget the goodtimes - we may have bad times but there have been plenty more good.
A video showing the highlights from the last ever game at Highfield Road when Coventry City beat Derby County 6-2 which is probably the best memory I have of CCFC apart from the FA Cup Final in 1987.
It also has a slideshow of photos of CCFC players and managers through the years.

Fans gathered outside the council house on 13th October 2007 to show solidarity and gain awareness and support for the club.
I am sorry I was wrong on this video I said grand instead of million through nerves. I have also since found out that the council paid £10 million for their 50% yet Alan Higgs paid £6.5 million because that’s all we asked for to keep us going for rest of season.
