Chris Coleman willing to part with his players only for an unrealistic amount of Money

Chris Coleman has stressed that he is determined to hold on to his dear life by vouching for his players, and said that he will block any attempt to lure them away from the club, of course unless you are ready to pay some absurd amount of money. He looked especially concerned with the transfer window season fast approaching.

He also acknowledged that the recent credit-crunch dilemma would have an impact on the club only if buyers are ready to pay hefty amounts for what he describes as the club’s ‘crown-jewel’ players.

He went on to say that baring the top four teams Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool, there are not many who can refuse astounding amount of money for their players. Quick to point out that he has no intention to sell the players, especially the quartet of Kieren Westwood, Scott Dann, Danny Fox, Aaron Gunnarsson- he stressed that the main emphasis at the moment is to build a team around these players since the average age of the team is pretty low and they can only get better.

The team can’t afford to commit the same mistakes that it made in the past, and it is necessary for the management and the players to understand that the enviable position that they enjoy today is the result of years of toil, sacrifices and focused determination, he said. The very purpose will be defeated if the team does away with the parts that it feeds on, and is dependent on for its further growth.

If some one is ready to splurge something in the range of five or six million which would be a good incentive for the development and re-investment of the team in the next two-three years, the transfer option may appear a possibility. Insisting that he is realistic and understands the dynamics of the transfer market, he also added that this sort of money can make a big difference, particularly to have a crack at the league.
