QPR’s insipid performance can be attributed to poor recruits, says Coventry manager

Coventry manager, Chris Coleman, has come out strongly against the wealthy owner’s of Queens Park Rangers, saying that the approach adopted by them is really shocking, and one which he derided as half-hearted at best. The coach looked particularly amused that his 10 men team not only managed to keep the opposition at bay, but also was the one who dominated the proceedings against a visibly passive opponent. Chris Coleman was not off mark when he says so, especially when one considers the performance of Heidar Helguson, the Rangers’ new recruitment, who spilled no less than five genuine chances. Queens Park Rangers though escaped a rare ignominy when they survived an inspired attempt by Coventry in the dying minutes of the game.

The outspoken manager, with a wealth of experience behind him, didn’t mince words when he said that having money is not everything when it comes to performance on the football field. He stressed that his opponents, despite having a pool of revenue at their disposal, are very much disillusioned as far as their football future is concerned. It just goes to show that training, hard work, and teamwork can overcome simply throwing money at a football club any day. At the end of the day all the players kick the same football, whether it be the Nike T90 Strike or Adidas Teamgeist football, and the playing field is leveled. Moreover, he emphasized that the Rangers’ would do well to purchase some real players rather than hankering after some Tom, Dick, and Harry.

The manager went on to reveal that as far as the transfer fees are concerned, Rangers’ is yet to make the real move, though he pleaded ignorance regarding the wages earned by the players there.

The owners according to him at the moment are not sure about the capability and prospects of the team which may be holding them back. Once they get hold of these things there is a possibility that things will fall in place for the besieged club, he hoped. Coleman further added that you have the luxury of four or five million; it should be definitely utilized to recruit better players.
