Norwich picks Bryan Gunn as a temporary arrangement to shrug off the Departure of Glenn Roeder

Bryan Gunn has taken over the reins as the manager of the Norwich, albeit temporarily, this week after their manager Glenn Roeder made an abrupt exit.

This recent development means that the former goalkeeper, who by the way is also the club’s head of player recruitment, will be in charge for the first in a Championship game when they take on Barnsley in their next match. The manager will be assisted in his services by goalkeeping coach Tommy Wright and academy manager Ricky Martin, both able professionals with good credentials.

In another case that has striking similarities, Northern Ireland manager Nigel Worthington has denied rumours that he is game to trading his current post for a return to Carrow Road.

Norwich is lucky to have Gunn as an instant replacement for Roeder, as the coach during his playing days appeared in a remarkable 477 matches for Norwich between 1986 and 1998, apart from having the distinction of winning six caps for his native country, Scotland. Gunn once again returned to his former club in February 2007, and since then has been wholeheartedly involved with the various activities of the club.

Speaking on behalf of the club, Gunn said that the sudden departure of Glenn saddened the entire team and stuff, but that they stand united at their moment of crisis. He also said that the team’s performance of late has let its supporters down, and now they have a golden opportunity to reverse that. Although the team will definitely have to work hard in the gym, on machines like the YorkFitness Evolution TV Treadmill, and hard on the pitch, in order to make Gunn’s intentions a reality. When the team meets Barnsley we will see whether or not this is enough.

Meanwhile, in other important developments Birmingham are planning to boost their ranks with the addition of a few more recruits, which they believe will provide them the right impetus to avenge the defeat they suffered at the hands of bitter rivals Wolves.
