Shocking Scolari sacking plagues Chelsea

The way Luiz Felipe Scolari was sacked hastily was bound to raise many eyebrows and that’s exactly what it has managed to. In support of his sacking the logic goes that Chelsea are uncomfortably placed seven points off the Premier League point leaders Manchester United. But the owners seem to have forgotten that they are also in the last 16 of both Champions League and the FA cup.

And to top it all, there is a relationship between the manager and the team players. That’s the very basis of the way a team turns out. We know the limited (or sometimes no) role players play in the choice and continuance of a manager but their lack of say can be an issue at times. That’s what has happened with Chelsea-Scolari issue.

John Terry the captain of Stamford Bridge side has expressed his shock at the unexpected turn of events. That’s not all as he thinks that there could be some divisions within the dressing room, “He (Scolari) has my full support. I’m sure two or three of the other players would say the same.” So it seems clear than not everyone wearing the Adidas Chelsea Away football shirt was a supporter of Scolari. Terry accepts that they had some bad results and the manager usually takes the blame but he also added, “Maybe it (blame) should have fallen more on us the players.”

Scolari’s unceremonious exit has drawn reactions from one and all. Sir Alex Ferguson is surprised and shocked and Glenn Hoddle, former manager at Chelsea thinks Scolari didn’t get enough time. But there have been reactions that support and accept the same decision. Former Chelsea striker Kerry Dixon says he has talked to Chelsea fans and they and he himself believe it to be a right decision.

Chelsea on their part seem to be closing in on the present Russian manager Guus Hiddink who is more than keen to join the club owned by his fellow countryman Roman Abramovich.
