Defeat has not defeated Dawson’s hope for UEFA
Michael Dawson, the defender of Tottenham is very positive and hopeful for the club in the UEFA cup even after the defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk on Thursday night. Harry Redknapp manager of Tottenham gave Dean Parrett a 17-year old his debut in the first leg. Further there is every possibility that in the match against Ukrainian champions some more youngsters will be used.
Michael Dawson is upbeat about his team and wants to take the game to the opposition. On Thursday night Redknapp manager of Tottenham had a injured team who bravely held on with just 12 minutes to go from full-time. Then a free kick was taken over by Yevgen Seleznov with a header and got it converted into the opening goal. With just two minutes left Jadson then added another goal.
After the game Dawson was heard as saying that according to him, they played well, however it was only the end which had cost them. He further added that he expected a lot of ball but mentioned that they were disappointed. He admitted that it was an uphill job, but at the same time with his faith and belief, he expects that they can do it and advance in the UEFA Cup. Redknapp said that due to the scarceness of players, opportunities are being offered to a 17 year old who made his debut at the match. Redknapp has further informed that he intends to bring in more of these of 17 years age and he admits that they are going to play the second leg with even weaker side. He was quoted saying that they have been provided with a crazy schedule consisting of six games to be completed in 17 days. He also said that this is a chance for the young players to learn.
