Coventry Legends say Coventry City can indeed beat Chelsea
Jimmy Hill and John Sillett the two legends of Coventry City are excited about the match on Saturday, March 7, between Coventry City and Chelsea at the Ricoh Arena. They have a strong belief that the Sky Blues in the FA Cup quarter-finals can beat Chelsea. Coventry is one of the last eight teams after their win of 1-0 on Tuesday night over Blackburn.
John Sillett the man who got City the FA Cup Final in 1987 in a 3-2 famous win at Old Trafford was of the opinion that in FA Cup anything was possible. He compared it to a snowball and remarked that as you go further the more you build up.
John Sillett was very impressed by Chris Coleman methods and said he worked very systematically. He appreciated Coleman for bringing out Coventry from the financial problems and signing some good players. He further added that the present team of Coventry players have excellent work ethics and it is a balanced team capable of upsetting any side.
Chelsea, John Sillett said will bring out its first team and go all out to win the match, but he said there is always a possibility of good football teams getting beaten. He said though his debut professional club was Chelsea, but his heart if all out for Coventry.
Coventry, he said will have a spectacular crowd and their encouragement and support will be with the team.
Jimmy Hill who took the city in English football to top heights in 1967 remarked that Chelsea may be financial ten times to Coventry however the enthusiasm in the Coventry players will be at the hilt. Chelsea may sell more merchandise, like the Adidas Chelsea Tracktop, sign more famous players like Drogba, and have a larger fan following, but Coventry City has the heart to pull off the upset.
Both John Sillett and Jimmy Hill are eagerly waiting for the big event and a positive attitude is the first step to success.
