Tips for Coventry City verses Chelsea at the Ricoh Arena
The most challenging aspect of the quarter-final game between Coventry City and Chelsea on Saturday will be managing the crowd at the Ricoh Arena. A capacity crowd is expected to turnout for the match. The police operation is being organised by Sergeant Ian Tipton the football liaison officer of police station of Stony Stanton Road. He has advised to all the football fans that they should reach well before time so that they should have lot of time to get themselves seated inside the ground.
It is expected that a crowed of 6,000 fans of Chelsea will be travelling to Ricoh Arena to support their team, therefore there will be a lot of fans who would not be aware of the ground locations nor know the car parks area. This was the main concern of the football liaison officer and also the biggest challenge.
Adequate arrangement will be made and officers on duty will be available to guide persons driving down to Ricoh Arena. Road signs will specially be created for the match so that Chelsea fans in their Adidas Chelsea tracktop and assorted other Chelsea wear should not face any difficulty locating their way to the stadium. Furthermore, the staff of Ricoh Arena will be assisted with significant traffic operations.
The Football liaison officer further said that there will be a lot of people coming by train and car. He hopes that the fans will plan out their visit in such a way that they can park their cars safely and reach the ground in time.
All the relevant roads will have more signs as the more the signs the less one needs to stop and ask for guidance.
There will be additional officers who will direct coaches to the Ricoh Arena. The City and the railway stations will have additional officers deputed for guidance. He said that this is not an extraordinary operation for them but emphasized the point that the fans should plan their travel in such a way that they reach the stadium in time
