Chris wants to pay back the Supporters who have all along supported the Club
Chris Coleman wants to give back the supporters of Coventry City their smile back by creating history on Saturday. The former boss of Fulham said sky is the limit for this 2009 team of Coventry City and they are competent to fulfil the wishes of their supporters who are desperate to see their team win against a strong team like Chelsea. The supporters deserve this game as they have so loyal and it as a time for paying back this loyalty.
Chris Coleman has the pressure of an expectation of the repeat of the 1987 Sky Blues final triumph of 3-2 over Tottenham. Steve Ogrizovic’s daily reminders of the cup finals, his saves of semi-finals, Cyrille Regis and Keith Houchen etc. gets to his nerves remarked Coleman. He is of the opinion that the task is not impossible and they should go with the frame of mind of beating Chelsea in the home quarter final match.
Coleman further added that this was an opportunity to create a little bit of historic win and a very special day on the home ground to qualify for the next round. The task is difficult but not impossible. Chelsea he admitted is a great side but he believes that they would respect Coventry and with the fact that the match is their home ground would not be relished by Chelsea.
Commenting on the Team, he said they had quality players in all the departments therefore they would have to give their best and hope for the lick to be on their side. Coventry he said should not go with the frame of mind of feeling satisfied with a 1-0 defeat.
In the recent past five to six years, Coventry has been in news only for wrong reasons, like its debt problems, relegation from Premier League and losing a lot of good players and frequent change of managers. Now it’s time to make anyone wearing a Chelsea home shirt feel sad and disappointed. Especially because now the Coventry City club is really moving in the right direction. At present it is debt-free, with a balanced squad.
