Prospects from the Coventry City Academy are making it Big

The recent news item about four prospects from the Coventry City Academy entering the professional circuit after signing their maiden professional contracts is being reported in influential publications. The youngsters talked about are Curtis Wynter, Ashley Cain, Adam Walker and Jermaine Grandison, each of whom is 18 years old. These four rising stars debuted for the Sky Blues in the season 2008/09 and displayed their exploits. Chris Coleman’s side served as a perfect launch pad and their efforts have yielded them one year contracts. Star prospect and midfielder Adam Walker is the first one from the fray to make his foray post a 2-0 triumph over Sheffield Wednesday. The last season for Coventry City (CC) was speckled with many near misses. Capacity, range, power and more so the will were all falling short in the 2008-2009 season. The constant losses have dragged the club down and resulted is continual fiscal loss. Nonetheless there still stands a dedicated army of staunch believers that religiously follows every game and eagerly prays for that one opportunity that will one day see Coventry City emerge as champions. Coventry City linked with Ricky Lambert of the Bristol Rovers

Ricky Lambert is indeed the man of the moment. Coventry City has shown interest in the prolific striker and a summer move is being planned for him. Now this major decision is being taken by the club after it celebrated its 125th inception anniversary and successfully averted relegation to League One despite a 4-1 loss to Charlton. The club also saw off a sell out on the 7th March in the match against Premier League club Chelsea at the quarter final of FA Cup. Annual Report on the Performance by Coventry City FC

The annual report prepared by Jim Brown on Coventry City FC’s performance and other related happenings is finally out. It briefly outlines all the major events and even though Brown tries to maintain some sort on-off optimism throughout but unfortunately the lack of wins and paucity of goals can make even the a hard-line optimistic fan crumble. Though the two wins over Wolves and Birmingham was fantastic and perfectly executed it has been more than 38 years since City last finished in the top six of any division. City has some great sought after player like Danny Fox and Kieren Westwood among others nonetheless with the club still losing money it is difficult to imagine them sticking around for long. Coventry City Boss not keen on Loan Transfer

Chris Coleman, the boss of Coventry City, is not keen on any loan transfer as at this stage they are on their course for a finish somewhere in the middle of the table and it appears pointless at this stage for him. He said that they already have some young players who have joined the club who are being trained. Though the objective now was to get a finish that should be strong and improve as much as possible on the last season’s finish. Clinton Morrison fears for Coventry City
